Deploying Lean Production

	The ADAPT "Lean Production" programme (1997 - 1999) achieved significant results with its collective dimension, its comprehensive approach to efficiency and the specific actions that were implemented in each of the 66 participating small and medium-sized industrial companies. Strengthened by the results achieved and encouraged by the Public Authorities, the partners proposed to transfer and expand the Pilot "Lean Production" operation. This led to the Rhône Alpes Lean Production Programme (PPJ/RA), which aims at helping 300 small and medium-sized companies to implement the Lean Production process and involves 70 consultants and 90 trainers, etc. This programme is financed by the European Social Fund, DRTEFP, DRIRE, the Rhône Alpes Region and the participating companies. To achieve this objective, the process within the companies, the management and steering of the project are transferred to local INTERMEDIARIES, who are responsible for the operational implementation.
