In order to cope with globalization and increasing competition, particularly in manufacturing industries, maintaining and reinforcing the European industrial sector goes through the development of services as an added value for industrial products. This is the only way to allow differentiation and increase customer loyalty.
Innovation through services is today a prerequisite for European industrial SMEs’ competitiveness.
However, most companies in that field, and more specifically in traditional sectors, are lacking means and methodological approaches to design, define and implement product innovation through the introduction of services.
CEFORALP and its European partners have been working together on the creation of an educational game named ISI, aimed at guiding SMEs in the discovery of a process for introducing a service offer to increase the value of their products.
