The SILVER approach proposes a structured methodology (diagnosis guide, synthesis works, action plans, etc.) completed by a set of tools intended to settle age management practices within firms. These efficient tools permit an objective diagnosis of the competencies and of the situation of enterprises regarding the ages of their manpower which, afterwards, will ease the decision making process, particularly in matter of training and recruitment. The tool “Evaluation of competencies” enables to visualise the situation of the enterprise and of its different departments towards three factors directly linked to its competencies: the management of knowledge and competencies, flexibility and the management of change in the activity. The tool of risks analysis “Risk Age Management” permits to identify the risks linked to the age evolution of the manpower, as, for instance, the loss of competencies, the lack of employability, professional wear and tear, recruitment issues, and possible intergenerational conflicts. The “Individual self-diagnosis” allows to identify the appetencies and the competencies of the employees and to revitalize their professional paths, by taking into account both their expectations and the needs of the enterprise.
