Leonardo da Vinci programme

The Leonardo da Vinci programme is in line with the European policy of « Life long learning » which runs from 2007 to 2013. It contributes to the implementation in the E.U. of a professional training policy which supports and completes the actions led by the Member States.  The purpose of this programme is the promotion of new innovative practical approaches in the professional training policies.

The specific objectives of the Leonardo da Vinci programme are the following:

  • “To support participants in training and further training activities in the acquisition and the use of knowledge, skills and qualifications to facilitate personal development
  • To support improvements in quality and innovation in vocational education and training systems, institutions and practices
  • To enhance the attractiveness of vocational education and training and mobility for employers and individuals and to facilitate the mobility of working trainees”

The SILVER methodology is a "Transfer of Innovation" Leonardo da Vinci project. It capitalises on the results of two previous European initiatives by inserting them in a global solution and spreading them to a larger population (new European areas thanks to a wider partnership, new fields of activity thanks to the professional branches, more enterprises thanks to the availability of tools in internet).
